Michael Edward Glover

Michael Edward Glover passed away Friday August 19th, 2011 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Mike was born September 24, 1941 in Aberdeen, SD. He was the son of the late Fay and Viola Glover. Mike graduated from high school in Frederick, SD and graduated from college at Northern State in Aberdeen, SD. He was a college quarterback taking the team to the NAIA national championship in 1961. Mike married Sandra Thorpe on June 29, 1963 in South Dakota. Mike taught math and science in high school for three years in South Dakota. He was awarded a National Science Grant to attend the University of Oklahoma in 1966 where he received his master’s degree in math and science. In 1967, the family moved to Ponca City where Mike worked as a computer analyst for three years at Conoco Oil Co. The family then moved to Tulsa in 1970. Mike was employed at Computing and Information Sciences Corporation for ten years. In 1980, he and friend John Haley co-founded Viking Software Services Inc. In 2000, Mike retired when the company was sold. Mike was as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather as well as a devoted member of St Pius X church for 41 years where his five children attended school. Seven of his grandchildren are attending St Pius X now and two have graduated. Mike served as a lector, school board member for many years, Boy Scout leader, choir member, and coach for his children’s baseball and football teams. Mike loved the outdoors and enjoyed teaching his sons his love for hunting and fishing. In his retirement, he enjoyed carpentry and building beautiful pieces of furniture for friends and family. He volunteered his time repairing computers for his church, school, and friends. Mike and Sandy are the parents of five children: Michelle Glover Walton and husband Rob; Mark Glover and wife Lynn; Paul Glover and wife Marsha; Gregory Glover and wife Monique; Patrick Glover and wife Melissa. He was most proud of his thirteen grandchildren: Davis, Donovan, and Cassie Walton; Savannah, Emma, and Joel Glover; Jessica and Jason Glover; Grant and Seth Glover; Gavin, Will, and Ava Glover. He enjoyed every moment with his grandchildren and attended as many of their sporting events and activities as he possibly could. His parents Fay and Viola preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Sandy; five children; thirteen grandchildren; five brothers: Jim, Alan, Fr. Don, Roy, and Rob; and one sister Jeanne; and mother-in-law Virginia Thorpe. Mike was a caring person to all he met. He always put other’s needs before his own. He was a “true gentleman” and will live in our hearts forever! We love you Mike. A prayer vigil will be held Tuesday evening, Aug 23, 2011 at 7PM at St Pius X Church. A funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday morning, Aug 24, 2011 at 10AM at St Pius X Church. Tony BainesRobert James "Tony" Baine

Robert James "Tony" Baine, age 81, died July 28, 2011 in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born July 1, 1930 in Joplin, MO to John A. and Grace Underhill Baine who preceded him in death. Tony served in the U. S. Army and was a convenience store owner, a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid Union High School and OSU football fan. In addition to his parents Tony was preceded in death by 4 brothers, a sister, a grandson, granddaughter, and son-in-law. Tony is survived by his wife of 61 years Dorothy of the home, children, Cheryl Baine, Michele Firth and husband Glyn, Mary Margaret Parker and husband Lonnie, Robin McIllwain and husband Rick, Becky Baker and husband Mike, Matt Baine, Lisa Owens and husband Rob all of Tulsa and Broken Arrow, OK, Terry Sacco and husband Paul of Houston, TX, 17 grandchildren, 3 great-granddaughters and a host of nieces and nephews. Tony loved his wife and family. He loved his pets Maggie, Derek and Jake. Edgar Wayne Cathcart

Edgar Wayne Cathcart, 83, passed away on May 29th after an extended illness. Ed retired from American Airlines with 39 years of service as a mechanic. He also served in the Air Force and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4721. Ed always found peace in the outdoors and he will be missed by all those who benefitted from his hobby of picking and shelling pecans. Ed is survived by his bride of 57 years, Marie Eloise Boudreaux Cathcart and 3 daughters: Ruth Marie Cathcart; Jean Anne Cathcart Helvey and husband Scott Helvey; and Margaret Michelle Cathcart Kasprzak; along with his two sisters, Norma Jean "Sis" Campbell and Francis Cramton and husband Earl Cramton. Ed was blessed with three grandchildren: Amber Suzanne Helvey and husband Jeremiah Clark; Caroline Helvey; and Brandon Helvey. Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father, Otis and Mabel Cathcart and son-in-law Rick Kasprzak. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2nd, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 1402 South Boulder Avenue, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday June 3rd at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1419 North 67th East Avenue. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 91st and Harvard. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross to benefit the victims of the Joplin tornados. William J. Gibbons, Jr., 81, died on December 21, 2009. “Bill” was born in Chicago, IL on May 11, 1928, to William J. Sr. and Marie B. Gibbons. He attended St. Ignatius High School in Chicago and then graduated with a degree in Political Science from Georgetown University in 1951. He married his sweetheart, Maribeth Carey on May 31, 1952, then was promptly called to serve the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed at Ft. Sill in Lawton and was assigned to the 280-mm atomic cannon, “Atomic Annie”. After the Army he moved back to Chicago and went into the insurance business. He moved his family to Tulsa in 1967. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and always looked out for his family. He was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where he served on the committee to feed the homeless. His interests included the Knights of Columbus, gardening, golf, fishing, taking trips with good friends Darell and Mary Strait, and meeting Chicago friends, the McDonnells and Moores, in Branson. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by: his wife, “Beth” of the home; five children, William J. III and Dee Ann Gibbons of Tulsa, Kathryn Gibbons of Morrison, CO, Jane and Dan Epstein of Chicago, Maribeth and Bill Clark of Tulsa, and Jim and Jennifer Gibbons of Oklahoma City; and six grandchildren, Andrew and James Silvey of Denver, Theodore and Patricia Gibbons of Tulsa, and Audrey and Benjamin Clark of Tulsa. EDDY - Clyde Joseph, 97, a retired mechanical engineer, passed away on May 28, 2008. A life long Tulsan, he was born on January 1, 1911. Preceded in death by: his wife of 64 years, Louise Barbara Harl Eddy, who died in 1996; his son Clyde Joseph Eddy, Jr.; his daughter Theresa Ann Casillas; and granddaughter, Mary Ann Griscom. He was listed in Who's Who in Tulsa, co-owner of REMCO, Ramsey-Eddy Mfg. Co., and Regional Manager of Lone Star Steel Co. He was a member of the Tulsa Club, The Petroleum Club of Tulsa and the Tulsa Historical Society. Vitally interested in the history of Tulsa, particularly the Race Riot of 1921 which he witnessed and after which he, as a 10 year old child, saw the mass burial of victims at Oaklawn Cemetery. He helped start Tulsa's first black Boy Scout Troop when he was a 16-year old Eagle Scout. He was a member of Holy Family Cathedral and the Knights of Columbus, Council 4721. He is survived by: his sister, Winona Henderson; his son, William Stephen Eddy D.O. and wife Lynn, daughters: Carole Sanders, of the home, Evelyn Nichols, Patricia Griscom and husband James; Vickie Buckendorf and husband Michael; Barbara Harvey and husband Gerald; son-in-law Larry Casillas; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, all of the Tulsa area; 2 sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The Rosary will be on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 3:30 p.m., at Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, June 2, 2008, at Holy Family Cathedral. John "Jack" Hotaling, Sr. - September 26, 1924 - April 26, 2008
HOTALING, John "Jack" Sr., 83, passed away on April 26, 2008. He was born on September 26, 1924, to Clifford and Gertrude (Coyle) Hotaling in Bloomfield, NJ. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife of 57 years, Jackie; and his sister, Gertrude. He is survived by his 4 daughters: Patty, Jeannie, Carol and Linda; and his 3 sons: John, Harry and Peter. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In 1968, Jack moved the family to Oklahoma and became involved in the printing industry. He was a member of the greatest generation as a WWII veteran. He was a Navy man serving proudly on the aircraft carrier, USS Intrepid. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially birthday celebrations, traveling, watching any sporting event, bowling and was very active in the Optimist Club. Jack was a devoted care giver to his wife Jackie who died in December 2006. Jack was a long time member of the Church of the Madalene. Dad, tell Mom we miss her.
